IVF with Egg Donation

In many circumstances in which a couple is experiencing infertility, San Diego IVF specialists can treat the problem with advanced fertility treatments such as ovulation induction or intrauterine insemination (IUI). In other cases, the condition causing infertility is treatable with surgery.

Here are some situations in which IVF with egg donation may be required or recommended.

  • Age-related infertility (most often for women age 40 or older)
  • A single male with a gestational carrier
  • Gay male couple having a child with a gestational carrier
  • Genetic disease risk on female partner’s side
  • Low ovarian reserves (indicated by very high FSH levels or a low antral follicle count)
  • Primary ovarian insufficiency (also known as premature ovarian failure)
  • Post-cancer treatment (if the ovaries or eggs were damaged or removed)
  • Repeated canceled IVF treatment due to poor or low ovarian response
  • Unexplained repeated IVF failure
  • A woman born without her ovaries due to a congenital anomaly

If your journey to parenthood requires IVF with egg donation, FSMG works with the top egg donor collective — one of only a few agencies that recruits, selects, and prescreens (medically, psychologically, and genetically) its ready-to-cycle egg donors before making them available on the egg donor registry.

Egg Donor Cycle Logistics

Fresh Donor Cycles. In a fresh donor cycle, your donor will be screened and complete her cycle after you select her for your cycle. The eggs will be fertilized with your sperm source on the day of the egg retrieval, and although the embryos may be frozen for future use, the eggs will not be frozen.

For same-sex male couples, onor sperm, eggs or embryos are forms of third-party assistance often used for family building. A gestational carrier (surrogate) will be necessary for couples or individuals who do not have a uterus. A gestational carrier is not genetically related to the baby she delivers for the intended parent(s). An embryo generated by or for the intended parent(s) is transferred into the uterus of the gestational carrier. Legal agreements are in place to ensure parenting rights in all cases of gestational carriage.

Can I Afford Egg Donation?

The team at FSMG is committed to transparency regarding egg donor IVF costs and fees. Our team understands that this journey represents a significant financial investment, so our goal is to provide a wealth of information to help make the process easier.

The total cost of egg donation includes agency fees, egg donor compensation/expenses/travel, medical expenses, fertility clinic fees, and legal fees.
